Top Winners at the 2019<br />MTV Video Music Awards.<br />The 36th annual VMAs were hosted on Aug. 26<br />at the Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey.<br />Here are some of the top<br />winners of the night. .<br />Billie Eilish was nominated for a total of<br />nine awards, winning best new artist,<br />push artist of the year and best editing. .<br />Taylor Swift’s “You Need to Calm Down”<br />won video of the year and video for good<br />and she also won best visual effects for “ME!”.<br />Ariana Grande received a total of 10<br />nominations and won artist of the year,<br />song of the summer and best art direction.<br />BTS won the inaugural award for best k-pop, as<br />well as best group, beating out the Jonas Brothers,<br />Backstreet Boys and 5 Seconds of Summer.<br />Lil Nas X, who’s song “Old Town Road” broke<br />the record for longest consecutive weeks at<br />No. 1, won song of the year and best direction.<br />Shawn Mendes and Camila Cabello took<br />home the awards for best cinematography<br />and best collaboration for their song “Señorita.”
