Kansas City Royals Owner <br />Negotiating to Sell <br />Team for $1 Billion<br />.<br />David Glass is in talks to sell the <br />franchise to John Sherman for <br />more than $1 billion, according to ESPN.<br />.<br />Sherman is currently a minority owner of the Cleveland Indians.<br />.<br />The Royals organization said it is "not in a position to make any comments on the published speculation regarding any potential sale of the ball club."<br />.<br />Glass, the former CEO <br />of Walmart, purchased the <br />Royals in 2000 for $96 million.<br />.<br />The value of baseball franchises has <br />increased dramatically in recent years.<br />.<br />Bruce Sherman purchased the Miami Marlins <br />in 2017 for $1.2 billion.<br />.<br />David's son, Dan Glass, is Kansas City's current team president.<br />.<br />The Royals reached the World Series in 2014<br />and won the championship in 2015.<br />.<br />It was their second World Series title in franchise history
