Reversing its previously long-held stance on iPhone repairs, Apple will start supplying parts to independent shops for the first time.<br />CNBC reports Apple will offer independent repair shops access to parts, tools and guides for common out-of-warranty repairs.<br />Apple later said when a repair is need, customers should have confidence the repair will be done right and is handled by a trained technician.<br />The iPhone maker says the new program is free to join, but shops must employ an Apple-certified technician.<br />Apple will launch the program in the U.S. first, before rolling it out to more countries.<br />
