A Bugatti Breaks 300mph, <br />Shattering the Record.<br />The Bugatti Chiron is the <br />first car from a "production auto <br />manufacturer" to ever exceed 300 mph.<br />A production auto <br />manufacturer produces <br />cars for public roads. .<br />Driven by test driver Andy <br />Wallace, the modified Chiron was <br />clocked at 304.8 mph on Volkswagen's <br />German test track, Ehra-Lessien.<br />It's inconceivable that a car would be capable of this. But the Chiron was well prepared and I felt very safe — even in these high speed ranges, Andy Wallace, test driver, via CNN.<br />The prototype was <br />developed with Italian race <br />car manufacturer Dallara.<br />The Bugatti Chiron reached <br />the record-breaking speed on <br />specially modified Michelin tires.<br />The standard Bugatti Chiron <br />has been clocked at 261 mph. <br />The car sells for $3 million
