The U.S.-South Korea alliance is the "foundation for peace and prosperity" on the Korean Peninsula and throughout the region.<br />That's U.S. Ambassador to South Korea Harry Harris in a keynote speech at the Indian Ocean Region Conference in the Maldives on Wednesday.<br />The former U.S. navy officer referred to the DMZ encounter between the leaders of South Korea, North Korea, and the United States back in June... saying it was a standing proof of the "strength of the U.S.-South Korea alliance for peace and prosperity."<br />He went on to say that South Korean President Moon Jae-in's 'New Southern Policy' - centered around 'People, Peace and Prosperity' - is in natural harmony with the U.S. vision for the Indo-Pacific.<br />
