Hong Kong leader Carrie Lam said that China “understands, respects and supports” her government’s move to formally withdraw the extradition bill which would have allowed extraditions to mainland China.<br /><br />She also hopes that with the withdrawal of the bill, it would help the city “move forward” from months of unrest during a press conference on Thursday.
