Suspect Charged
in Connection to
Mac Miller's Death
Federal prosecutors in California have officially charged 28-year-old
Cameron James Pettit in connection to Miller’s death. Miller was found unresponsive
in his home on Sept. 7, 2018,
after accidentally overdosing. The filed criminal complaint alleges that Pettit was responsible for
supplying Miller with counterfeit oxycodone pills two days prior. The pills, which contained fentanyl, cocaine and Xanax,
created a deadly combination, resulting in Miller’s overdose. Text messages sent by Pettit also point
to his involvement in Miller’s death, as he allegedly
told a friend he would “die in jail” for what he did. According to U.S. Attorney Nick Hanna,
these charges are the result of a national
effort to stop overdose deaths. Nick Hanna, to 'NBC News'
