Many tens of thousands of pro-democracy protesters march through the streets of Hong Kong Central and onto the US Consulate on Sunday (September 8).<br /><br />Some protesters carried banners reading, "President Trump, please save Hong Kong" and "Make Hong Kong great again" according to reports.<br /><br />They marched in support of a bill going through the US Congress aimed at penalising officials in Beijing and Hong Kong who suppress freedoms. <br /><br />But some demonstrators turned the generally peaceful rally violent.
