Lung Illness Cases<br />Possibly Related to Vaping<br />Have Increased, Says CDC.<br />According to the Centers for <br />Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), <br />the number of cases has reached <br />450 people across 33 states.<br />That number has doubled<br />since last month, when only 215<br />vaping-related cases were found.<br />According to the CDC, a total<br />of five people have died.<br />Many of those struck with <br />illness used either cannabis-derived <br />or nicotine-containing products.<br />The CDC says that the <br />"lung illnesses are likely <br />associated with a chemical exposure.".<br />Although more investigation is needed to determine the vaping agent or agents responsible, there is clearly an epidemic that begs for an urgent response, David Christiani, Harvard School<br />of Public Health, via NPR.<br />Until their investigation is final, <br />the CDC recommends that people <br />consider abstaining from the use <br />of vaping products altogether
