2,500 People Still Missing in Bahamas <br />After Hurricane Dorian .<br />According to officials in the Bahamas, <br />the current death toll after Dorian <br />ripped through the islands is 50.<br />That number is expected to rise <br />as an estimated 2,500 people <br />are still listed as missing.<br />Carl Smith of the Bahamas' National Emergency <br />Management Agency is urging residents to <br />continue submitting the names of missing persons.<br />As we are able to cross-reference our data sets, we will be able to inform family members and reunite survivors with loved ones, Carl Smith, Bahamas National Emergency Management Agency, via CNN.<br />According to Daniel Gajewski, who was deployed to assist <br />by the U.S. Agency for International Development <br />(USAID), a "first sweep" has been carried out.<br />The teams will continue to check the area for <br />anyone in need of rescue, food and water. .<br />They will also assess sanitation needs.<br />Bahamian Prime Minister Hubert Minnis <br />is working with the government to set up <br />temporary housing for those whose homes <br />were destroyed by the Category 5 hurricane
