Facebook Suspends <br />Tens of Thousands of Apps The move was announced <br />in a blog post by Facebook VP of <br />Product Partnerships, Ime Archibong. The suspensions follow an ongoing investigation <br />after the "episode" in which data firm <br />Cambridge Analytica manipulated <br />Facebook user data to influence U.S. elections. Apps from close to <br />400 developers were involved. Those targeted showed a <br />"potential to abuse" Facebook <br />policies and had access to <br />“large amounts of information.” Ime Archibong, via <br />'The Washington Post' Following the Cambridge Analytica <br />scandal, Facebook was issued <br />a $5 billion fine by the the <br />Federal Trade Commission.
