For the first time in almost 40 years, Iranian women will be able to attend a World Cup qualifier in Tehran next month.<br /> FIFA President Gianni Infantino made the announcement on Sunday, adding it's important to move to the next level and to the next stage. <br />FIFA said it would be working with the Iranian football federation to develop plans for women to attend domestic matches in the Iranian league. <br />The Islamic Republic has banned female fans from stadiums since 1981 under the country's strict Islamic laws and customs. <br />FIFA had demanded Iran allow women to stadiums following news that a female Iranian set herself on fire to protest against her arrest for attending a game. <br />
