‘Chernobyl’ Wins Outstanding<br />Limited Series at 2019 Emmy Awards The HBO miniseries took home the coveted award<br />on Sept. 22 at the 71st Primetime Emmys. The show beat out fellow nominees ‘Escape at Dannemora,’ ‘Fosse/Verdon,’ ‘Sharp Objects’ and <br />‘When They See Us.’ While accepting the award, show creator<br />Craig Mazin spoke about how he hoped the show<br />would remind people of “the value of truth.” Craig Mazin, via ‘Hollywood Reporter’ ‘Chernobyl’ was also nominated in five other<br />categories and won best writing for a limited<br />series and best directing for a limited series. The five-part series debuted on May 6 and concluded<br />on June 3, where it quickly became IMDb's<br />top-ranked TV show of all-time on June 5.
