The Social Welfare Department, Government of Assam in collaboration with Shishu Sarothi is organizing a Media Interaction Programme under the "Awareness Generation Programme on Disability and the Rights of Persons with Disabilities Act, 2016."<br /><br />As per section 39 of The Rights of Persons with Disabilities Act, 2016, the government has a mandate to conduct, encourage, support and promote awareness and sensitization programme to ensure that the rights of persons with disabilities provided under the Act is protected.<br />
