Third Kim-Trump summit will "create new order of denuclearization on Korean Peninsula": President Moon

Our top story this morning...<br />President Moon Jae-in says he anticipates successful nuclear negotiations between North Korea and the U.S. going forward.<br />He also says he hopes the next North Korea-U.S. summit be a page-turning event in the Korean peace process.<br />He made the comments as he met for the ninth time with his U.S. counterpart, Donald Trump.<br />We connect live to our Shin Se-min, who is in New York.<br />Se-min, both leaders expressed high hopes for a third summit between Kim Jong-un and President Trump.<br /><br /> Right.<br />For one, President Moon expressed anticipation that a third big meeting between the leaders of North Korea and the U.S. will be a world-class breakthrough.<br />His remarks come as the regime said this month that it's willing to resume working-level nuclear talks with the U.S. as soon as possible. <br />But first, let's hear what President Moon said on Monday. <br /><br />"I anticipate working-level talks between North Korea and the U.S. to set the groundwork for a third North Korea-U.S. summit. If the summit takes place, it will be a huge breakthrough and achievement, creating a new order of denuclearization on the Korean Peninsula."<br /><br /> And President Trump, on the same page as his South Korean counterpart,... boasted of his personal relationship with the North Korean leader and saying that Kim is a man of his words.<br /><br />"Frankly he has lived up to his words on those things we discussed. We actually signed an agreement in Singapore. We actually have two very good meetings."<br /><br />But unlike previous meetings between Moon and Trump,... the U.S. leader refrained from giving a definite yes to a third Kim-Trump summit,... quite a contrast to his previous comments,... but he said he will see what happens.<br /><br /> Apart from parallel stances on the Korean peace process- the two leaders also delved into their bilateral alliance. <br />Tell us about that. <br /><br /> Right from the get go, President Trump said both South Korea and the U.S. are making a lot of progress on trade deals,… adding he'd liked to do some additional things on trade - indicating more deals could be in the pipeline. <br /> He also mentioned how Seoul is one of the largest buyers of military equipment from the United States. <br />Adding to that,… the South Korean leader highlighted a 15-year deal between South Korea's state-run gas corporation KOGAS and BP to buy over one-and-a-half million tons of U.S. liquefied natural gas from 2025. <br />The South Korean presidential office said such a massive business deal between the allies will strengthen their bilateral ties even further.<br />Mark?<br />
