SANDTON, SOUTH AFRICA — The Leonardo, a 234-meter high skyscraper in the suburbs of Johannasburg, South Africa, is set to become the tallest building in Africa when it officially opens next month.<br /><br />The building will include a three-floor penthouse and five floors of office space, reports Bloomberg. Residents will have access to a Montessori preschool, in-house restaurants and room service. <br /><br />Legacy Living, a South African real estate agency in charge of the Leonardo, states on their website that the skyscraper includes facilities such as a gymnasium, a spa, a heated pool and a roof garden restaurant.<br /><br />Africa's tallest skyscraper will also include a retail complex for visitors and residents.<br /><br />Adrian Landry, general manager of the Leonardo, told Bloomberg that the building's penthouse will be custom designed by its owner.<br /><br />More than half of the Leonardo's apartments can be purchased as buy-to-rent properties. The building will also act as a hotel with one-bedroom apartments priced at around 7,250 rand a night, or roughly US$486, as reported by Bloomberg.
