Police are concerned with wild allegations by several individuals on social media on the recent shooting case in Bayan Lepas, Penang.<br />Inspector-General of Police Abdul Hamid Bador held a media conference at Bukit Aman today to warn irresponsible individuals spreading such posts that his officers in blue will take action against them.<br /><br />Abdul Hamid said several quarters had spread posts saying that the parang-wielding perpetrator, who was shot dead by police after running amok and killing his supervisor, died as a martyr.<br /><br />The posts claimed that the man had reacted so after the victim insulted Prophet Muhammad.<br /><br />He said based on police investigation, they found that the suspect was heavily influenced by clips from the middle east purportedly showing the plight of Muslims in the region.
