Bulgarian economist Kristalina Georgieva is officially named the next head of the International Monetary Fund.<br /> The former World Bank CEO is the second woman, and the first person from an emerging-market economy, to lead the 1-hundred-89-member institution.<br />The IMF waived its age limit of 65 just one day before the deadline for candidate recommendations,... to allow the 66-year-old's nomination.<br />Georgieva is to take up the post on October 1st, replacing Christine Lagarde, who is expected to take over the European Central Bank later this year. <br />
