This is the hilarious moment a commuter chases after a bus - desperately holding on as it drags him along the ground. <br /><br />The man gave chase when the blue 'jeepney' vehicle passed the stop in Manila, the Philippines, earlier this month (September 10). <br /><br />One commuter dropped his umbrella in the frantic race to climb onboard, while the man in an orange shirt ran for around 40 metres. <br /><br />He then grabbed onto a bar and tried to leap onto a step at the back of the bus - only to miss completely.<br /><br />He the tried to keep up by running while being dragged by the bus. But when the vehicle stopped he dejectedly gave up after realising it was full.<br /><br />The video was captured by Marvin Mercado who was driving behind the jeepney when it happened in the overcrowded Pasig City area of Metro Manila.<br /><br />He said: "The man appeared okay as he just walked away after it happened. He looked so disappointed though.<br /><br />''I hope he will be more careful next time. But it's difficult to get a ride in that area, so people have to resort to these kind of desperate things."<br /><br />Earlier this month desperate commuters running late for work were seen climbing through the windows of a packed bus in Manila.<br /><br />While in August in the same city, a bus conductor was likened to 'Spiderman' because of the way he climbed over passengers heads to collect fares as there was no space for him to walk in the aisle.<br /><br />The Metro Manila area - the larger area around the capital Manila - is home to at least 13 million people and has become notorious for its traffic chaos. Studies show the metropolis is now the most congested city in developing Asia.
