Cats Really Do Care
About Their Owners A recent study published in
‘Current Biology’ found that
cats are capable of forming an
attachment with their owners. This "secure" attachment is similar
to the bond that dogs and even
babies have with their caregivers. The study proved this attachment by placing
108 cats in a room and examining how they reacted
when their owners left and then returned. Approximately 64 percent of the cats exhibited
secure behavior, such as immediately greeting
their owner when they came into the room. These findings debunk the assumption
that many owners have about their
cats emotionally distant attitude. According to cat behavior expert Jackson Galaxy,
a cat’s behavior is often overlooked because it
doesn’t mirror the enthusiasm dogs display. In reality, cats display
their attachment to humans
by feeling comfortable enough
to exist symbiotically. Jackson Galaxy, via NBC News
