Landmark stated while it wants customers <br />to enjoy 'Joker' as “cinematic achievement ... <br />no masks, painted faces or costumes will <br />be permitted into our theaters." AMC's statement was slightly <br />different from Landmark's. AMC Theatres, via Reuters In 2012, a mass shooting <br />occurred at a Cinemark Theater <br />in Aurora, CO, during a showing <br />of 'The Dark Knight Rises.' Many at the shooting <br />had been wearing costumes. <br />The shooter, James Holmes, <br />reportedly was wearing a mask. 'Joker' opens in <br />U.S. theaters on Oct. 4.
