'양돈 메카' 홍성 도축장서 ASF 의심 신고…"19마리 폐사"<br /><br />A new suspected case of African swine fever has been reported near South Korea's west coast.<br />The agriculture ministry said Sunday that that it was detected at a slaughterhouse in Hongseong County,... about 150 kilometers south of the capital.<br />The virus is harmless to humans but fatal to pigs, and until now, cases have been concentrated near the border with North Korea.<br />But if this case is confirmed, it could mean the disease is spreading throughout the country.<br />Quarantine measures, though, are in place at farms and other facilities, and in total the authorities are set to have culled some 90-thousand pigs. <br />
