Samsung Electronics has won a contract to supply 5G network solutions to KDDI, one of the largest telecommunications operators in Japan.<br />The Korean tech giant announced today that it was chosen along with Sweden's Ericsson and Finland's Nokia.<br />Commercial services are expected to begin in March 2020 and run for five years.<br />Most of Samsung's 5G network solutions will be used in Tokyo.<br />Industry sources estimate the size of the contract to be around two billion U.S. dollars.<br />The firm's 5G network solutions are also used by local mobile carriers and by Verizon, the biggest telecommunications operator in the U.S.<br />
