This is the heartbreaking moment monkeys ran along live wires to try to help their electrocuted friend - only to be electrocuted themselves.<br /><br />Thawatchai Wachum spotted the group of monkeys playing on the electrical pole in Phetchabun, northeastern Thailand on September 27.<br /><br />Footage shows the moment one of the monkeys ran to the top of the pole and was electrocuted, lying dead some 20ft in the air.<br /><br />Devastation then followed as the monkeys tried to run to help him only to be electrocuted themselves and drop dead onto the ground below.<br /><br />Onlooker Thawatchai witnessed the incident and called on the local authorities to fix the post.<br /><br />He said: "The authorities need to fix the electric leakage as soon as possible, next time it could be human who should hurt."<br /><br />The leader of the monkey pack eventually summoned all of the remaining creatures down from the pole and they ran away into nearby woodland.
