Instagram Launches New <br />Messaging App 'Threads'.<br />Users will only be able to message <br />people from their “Close Friends” <br />list on Instagram.<br />Messages sent to those who have <br />not yet downloaded the app will <br />go to the person’s regular DM inbox.<br />The app will directly compete with <br />Snapchat as a means of private <br />messaging for young people.<br />It also has an opt-in auto status feature, <br />which will add a relevant emoji to a <br />user’s profile depending on their location.<br />“Threads” aligns with Mark Zuckerberg’s<br />vision for an internet revolving around <br />privacy with private messaging at the center
