'Zombie' Deer Warning <br />Is Issued for Nevada Hunters The warning was issued by the <br />Nevada Department of Wildlife. <br />It's an attempt to keep "zombie" deer <br />from infecting its wildlife population. "Zombie" deer have <br />been infected with a <br />neurodegenerative disease that induces <br />severe weight loss, stumbling and drooling. Such deer can seem less afraid <br />of humans and more threatening. "Zombie" deer range across 24 states. The chronic-wasting disease <br />that transforms them into <br />zombie-like animals is always fatal. Nevada hunters are urged to <br />have their carcasses tested for <br />the disease at mobile sampling stations. The CDC warns that consuming <br />infected meat could result <br />in contracting the chronic-wasting disease.
