HOUSTON — Houston Rockets general manager Daryl Morey fired off a tweet last week heard 'round the world.
Morey tweeted an image last Friday that read: "Fight for Freedom. Stand with Hong Kong."

It was in reference to the pro-democracy / anti-China protests that have been raging in Hong Kong for the past four months.
And then faster than an SJW can get outraged, Chinese people across the universe were deeply offended.

Chinese feelings were so hurt the USGS released a statement saying it measured 8.7 on the Richter scale.
The Chinese Basketball Association—what's that??—whose president is former Rockets center Yao Ming, was so outraged it said it was suspending its relationship with the team. Suspending??
Chinese state television and Tencent both said they wouldn't be showing Rockets games. Guess that means VPNs for Chinese that want to watch the Beard or Westbrook.
Probably one of the most pathetic responses however came from Rockets owner Timan Fertitta who instantly took to Twitter to kowtow and say that Morey didn't speak for the Rockets.
Luckily the No Backbone Association had Morey's back—in that that is exactly where they stuck the knife.
The No Balls Association immediately called a full court kowtow calling Morey's tweet "regrettable" in the free world, but then tailoring a China-pleasing version for their official Chinese-language page on Weibo.
Unfortunately, Morey has had to delete the original HK tweet and go into apology mode. Why? For speaking the truth? Fight for Freedom. Stand with Hong Kong.
