S. Korean gov't designates six areas as buffer zones to prevent further ASF outbreaks

The government continues to take measures to prevent the spread of African swine fever.<br />The latest involves designating buffer zones in 6 cities and counties where the disease has been reported.<br />They are areas outside the 10 kilometer radius of farms where outbreaks have been confirmed,... namely Goyang, Pocheon, Yangju, Dongducheon, Cheolwon and Yeoncheon county. <br />Vehicles moving within the buffer zone will be strictly monitored and controlled.<br />Cars that move in and out of farms must be disinfected and checked every time when passing through these parts.<br />The agriculture ministry also plans to use GPS to more closely and accurately monitor the movement of vehicles used in pig farming. <br />
