As protests in Hong Kong continue for the 18th straight week, about half of the people in Hong Kong have considered emigrating to other countries.<br />That's according to a survey conducted by CNN on some 900 Hong Kongers through a research firm in July.<br />47 percent of the respondents, most of whom were young and highly-educated, said they have thought about emigration since the protests started.<br />Respondents said they considered emigration because they are worried about the political situation and education for their children.<br />Government data also suggests more people are thinking about emigrating.<br />The number of good citizen cards issued in August increased 54% compared to the year before. The card is one of the required documents when applying for foreign visas.<br />
