A craftsman showed off his incredible skills of making lacquer thread sculpture on vases in southern China.<br /><br />The impressive video, filmed in the city of Xiamen, shows the man named Chen Wencai using thin mud strips to create patterns on a porcelain vase and plate, ashtray and a cattail leaf fan.<br /><br />Lacquer thread sculpture is a traditional folk handicraft of southern China's Fujian Province, which dates back to 1400 years.<br /><br />Chen said it took him at least three days to complete a simple lacquer thread sculpture and it can also take a long period up to several months if it was a complicated product. <br /><br />The videos were filmed between February and July in 2019.
