A chilling moment captured on CCTV in west India shows a leopard sneaking up on a dog and attacking it, before the dog escapes with its life.<br /><br />The incident took place in the early hours of September 29 in Nashik city, Maharashtra state.<br /><br />CCTV footage shows a parking area of a house and a dog lying on the footsteps of the entrance.<br /><br />Suddenly a leopard is seen entering the area, slowly sneaking up on the sleeping dog, before trying to bite its neck.<br /><br />Unfortunately for the leopard, it could not get a good grasp of the dog, which woke up and immediately started barking to alert the residents.<br /><br />The attack was only discovered the next day and by that time, the leopard had disappeared into the wild. <br /><br />Forest officers were informed about the presence of the big cat in the locality, and searched the area to rule out any possibility of it hiding in the neighbourhood. <br /><br />However the leopard was nowhere to be found. <br /><br />The cat reportedly had tried to attack this dog before and the dog has not been seen since, and its owners are still waiting for it to return.
