Tourists in awe of stunning blanket of mist and dew in northern Thailand

Tourists flocked to this mountain in northern Thailand as temperatures dropped to just 5C this morning - causing a stunning blanket of mist and dew.<br /><br />Visitors were seen lining the road while enjoying the cooler weather this morning (October 15) at the Doi Inthanon mountain in Chiang Mai, the highest point in Thailand. <br /><br />The mist was thick and reduced the visibility to 200 metres with officials warning motorists to slow down while driving. <br /><br />Doi Inthanon National Park boss Kritsiam Kongsatri said that the park is preparing for the increasing number of tourists who will visit for the winter views.<br /><br />He said: "The mist drew a lot of attention from tourists and the number is starting to increase because the area is colder."<br /><br />"The tourist can enjoy the sightseeing and can enter the park to see the numerous plants that thrive in the cooler temperatures.''<br /><br />The country's Meteorological Department has forecast that temperatures in the north could plunge to 7C.<br /><br />State meteorologist Phuwiang Prakhammin said that this year’s winter will be colder and longer than last year. He expected the cool season to last for approximately 122 days until mid-February, with average lows of 20C to 21C nationwide throughout the entire season. <br /><br />He predicted that the north region will face the last wave of rain before October 17.
