Healthy Diets Can Help Young Adults With Depression.<br />A new study says eating more fruits and vegetables will help curb the issue for those entering their 20s.<br />The analysis, which was over three weeks, can be found in the journal PLOS One.<br />In it, a group of subjects was told to reduce intakes of sugar, fatty meats and refined carbohydrates.<br />Their daily diets had to include five servings of vegetables a day and three servings of grain and protein.<br />Participants, whose average age was 19, also had to have two to three servings of fruit.<br />In the end, lead author Heather Francis say those with a healthier diet showed improvement over those who didn't change eating habits.<br />Francis, a a neuropsychologist, adds that anti-inflammatory like cinnamon were also allowed.<br />Simply cutting down processed food intake and increasing fruit, vegetable(s) and fish resulted in improvements in depression symptoms, Macquarie University's Heather Francis, via study.<br />The study even says that those who kept up their diet for another three months maintained positive attitudes
