A group of students from the Peninsular Malay Students Association (GPMS) gathered outside Masjid Ar Rahman, near the gates of Universiti Malaya today to show their support for UM vice-chancellor (VC) Abdul Rahim Hashim.<br /><br />GPMS president Mohd Alif Anas Md Noor said UM student Wong Yan Ke may have had political backing for his protest against Rahim at the university's graduation ceremony last week.<br /><br />Wong had staged a protest against the Rahim over his alleged racist speech at the Malay Dignity Congress on Oct 6. <br />
