Two robots make up the high-tech service staff at the new Robo Chef restaurant in Bhubaneswar, Odisha, eastern India. <br /><br />It is said to be the first restaurant in eastern India where two the Indian-developed robots namely ‘Champa’ and ‘Chameli’ are engaged in serving food to the customers.<br /><br />Robo Chef owner Jeet Bashar said: "Being inspired by the services by robots in restaurants during my visit to the US, I wanted that kind of service here in Bhubaneswar where a robot can be used in restaurants.<br /><br />"Robo Chef is probably the first restaurant in eastern India and the first non-line follower restaurant in India,<br /><br />"Earlier restaurants in cities like Chennai and Bengaluru offer food services through robots. <br /><br />"Robot restaurants in India are all imported from China, but this is a completely made-in-India restaurant. The robots of the restaurant are developed at a Jaipur-based start up."<br /><br />The best feature of the robots developed using SLAM technology, meaning they need no guided path or environment modification for installation in any restaurant. <br /><br />The robots instead automatically navigate like humans, following their own routes to achieve their instructed goals.
