美, 방위비협상 일정 알리며 "동맹•파트너에 공정 부담 책임"<br /><br />South Korea and the United States will hold another round of negotiations next week on sharing the cost of stationing American troops on the Korean Peninsula.<br />Seoul's top negotiator Jeong Eun-bo will sit down with his U.S. counterpart James Dehart in Hawaii from Tuesday to Thursday for consultations on the Special Measures Agreement.<br />The previous round of talks took place last month in Seoul.<br />South Korea is required to pay over 870 million U.S. dollars for this year -- up 8-point-2 percent on-year.<br />Seoul's foreign ministry says the government will shoulder a fair share of costs at a reasonable level.<br />The U.S. State Department says the cost burden of U.S. troop deployments is a responsibility that should be shared fairly with allies and partners that benefit from their presence,... adding that President Trump expects South Korea to contribute more. <br />
