British PM sends request for Brexit extension without signature

2019-10-20 73 Dailymotion

British Prime Minister Boris Johnson has sent a request to the European Union for an extension to the Brexit deadline set for October 31st.
But he sent it without his signature, saying it was parliament's request, not his own.
The move came after a vote in the House of Commons on Saturday required the PM to ask for an extension... in a setback for his proposed new deal with the EU.
The extension request was sent as a photocopy... along with a letter from the UK's Permanent Representative in Brussels... clarifying that the request was from Parliament not the government.
A third letter was from Johnson himself, saying he was not asking for -- what he called -- a "deeply corrosive delay" and urging the EU to continue pushing for his plan.
