Concerns are growing over of a harmful chemical found in receipt paper in South Korea.<br />A lawmaker with the Environment and Labor Committee, citing a recent government study, said high levels of the hormone-disrupting chemical BPA were found in nearly half of the samples tested.<br />BPA is used on receipt paper for their stability and high heat resistance.<br />The lawmaker said the samples contained more than 60 times the recommended amount set by the EU.<br />Currently there are no safety standards regarding BPA, which the lawmaker said needs to be changed.<br />
