India school blasted for making students wear boxes over heads

HAVERI, INDIA — A college in India is taking some heat after images went viral of students sporting cardboard boxes on their heads during a test. <br />According to the BBC, the snaps were taken during a chemistry exam at Bhagat Pre-University College in Haveri, Karnataka state. <br /><br />Images showed most of the students wearing boxes with a hole cut in one side in order to prevent wandering eyes. <br />According to BBC Hindi, a junior college administrator has publicly apologized to district officials for the incident. <br />MB Satish told BBC Hindi, that the school was only trying the box method on an "experimental basis" after seeing it used elsewhere. <br />He said the students didn't mind and brought their own boxes. He also added that students weren't forced to wear the boxes. <br />After images started going viral, regional officials rushed to the school to complain. <br />The school has confirmed that it has ditched the boxes and is further investigating the incident.
