New Google Maps Feature <br />Alerts Users to 'Speed Traps'.<br />As a whole, the Google Maps <br />feature lets you pin locations <br />where traffic has slowed down.<br />These can include spots where there <br />is construction, lane closures<br />or disabled vehicles.<br />It also lets drivers <br />pin "speed traps.".<br />"Speed traps" are areas where <br />police cars hide to catch <br />drivers who are speeding.<br />The option comes from the Google-owned navigation app, Waze.<br />The new app option<br />is not popular with police.<br />In a letter earlier this year, the <br />NYPD issued a complaint to <br />Google about the feature.<br />We demand that Google LLC, upon receipt of this letter, immediately remove this function from the Waze application, NYPD, via letter.<br />The department recently told 'The Washington Post' <br />that they are in "productive talks" with the tech giant
