The retrial of Samsung Electronics vice chair Lee Jae-yong gets underway today,... after the country's highest court overturned a previous ruling.<br />The retrial centers on a bribery conviction against Lee, who had been given a two-and-a-half year suspended sentence for seeking favor from the now-jailed former president Park Geun-hye, in exchange for the donation of three horses to Park's confidante.<br />Arriving at the Seoul High Court this morning Lee said he was sorry to the Korean people for causing such trouble.<br />The de facto head of Samsung Group had already served one-year of detention but was freed last year after the appeals court reduced the lower court's original five-year jail term.<br />
