SHENYANG, CHINA — A man tried to sneak a lighter past airport security in China by ingeniously shoving it in his piehole. Spoiler alert, he was unsuccessful.
Taking lighters on airplanes is a no-no in China, but it shouldn't really be that big of deal finding a light with so many smokers in Asia.
Anyways according to Pear Video, the man had originally packed a lighter in his luggage, but remembered before going through security, so he took it out.
But rather than just throw it away like the millions of other people who forget about their lighters, he decided to Houdini the thing into his mouth.
Video footage from the Shenyang Taoxian International Airport, shows a female airport security officer giving the guy the wand.
The man probably would have gotten away with it if it weren't for the officer's pesky eyes which spotted the enormous bulges sticking out of both sides of his mouth.
At first he tried to very unconvincingly play it off by saying that he had just lost a tooth.
But in the end he couldn't keep his mouth shut and admitted to having a lighter in his mouth. He spit it out and handed it over to security.
He was yanked from his China Southern Airlines flight headed for Nanjing and given a $140 fine.
Lucky for the man, since it was his first offence, he wasn't given a flight-ban. Still can't be good for the old social credit score, though.
