A wedding party in east India was left stunned after after a cobra climbed a car used to carry bride and groom, and wrapped itself around the steering wheel. <br /><br />Employees at a marriage venue in Bhubaneswar, Odisha, spotted the cobra on a decked-up Battery operated vehicle (BOV) on October 27. <br /><br />They called the Snake Helpline, which rushed a senior volunteer, Purnachandra Das, to rescue the snake. <br /><br />Das found that the snake was very aggressive and had kept its hood flared up, ready to strike at anyone who approached it. <br /><br />But the expert snake handler managed to gently pull the cobra out with a snake tong and then put it in bag.<br /><br />An employee of the marriage hall said: “Luckily, the snake was found after the wedding was over and most guests had left. No damage was done.” <br /><br />Founder of Snake Helpline Subhendu Mallik said: “While the country celebrated holiday on Diwali, we are happy that we did our bit to mitigate snake-human conflict.”
