A highly-prized piece of white porcelain from the Joseon Dynasty has been nominated for state recognition as a "treasure" of Korea's cultural heritage.
The Cultural Heritage Administration announced Tuesday that it'll be added to the registry of treasures after a 30-day period of deliberation.
The piece was made in the 15th or 16th century, and depicts flowers and birds painted in blue.
It's about 30 centimeters tall.
The agency said the piece was chosen because it's relatively well preserved... and has distinct characteristics of the Joseon Dynasty... with less influence from the Chinese style.
