Back in the 70's, South Korea's economy got a big boost from a rural development project called the Saemaeul Movement.<br />Now President Moon Jae-in hopes to use it for peace and prosperity in the international community.<br />"With the spread of the Saemaeul Movement, we're sharing our experience of economic growth with developing countries, helping build their confidence that they can prosper. As a responsible middle power, we will continue to help the international community prosper all together."<br />Moon was speaking at an event in Suwon earlier today attended by Saemaeul Movement leaders.<br />He said Korea and ASEAN will discuss related cooperation during their special summit next month,... to help member states advance their economies.<br />He also thanked the leaders, saying their commitment in times of crisis will never be forgotten.<br />He especially pointed to their efforts to collect gold to overcome the 1997 financial crisis.<br />
