'Joker' Nears $1 Billion at the Worldwide Box Office.<br />The DC supervillain origin story has <br />generated over $934 million in theaters.<br />Just under $300 million of <br />that intake is domestic.<br />'Joker' is also the <br />highest-grossing rated-R movie ever, <br />breaking a record set by 'Deadpool 2.'.<br />The Warner Bros. film stars actor <br />Joaquin Phoenix as the "Clown Prince of Crime.".<br />It was helmed by 'The Hangover' director Todd Phillips on a <br />budget of only around $60 million.<br />Since its release last month, <br />'Joker' has broken many <br />October box office records.<br />They include biggest opening weekend <br />for a movie that month with $152.2 million.<br />As well as the biggest opening day for an October film in the U.S. and Canada with $39.4 million
