Tourists grit their teeth through fire massages at the Wat Pho temple in Bangkok, Thailand, on Sunday (November 3).<br /><br />Holidaymakers were given free massages at part of the Thai traditional medicine fair being held at the building.<br /><br />Expert masseuses in traditional dress used wooden hammers to unlock the knots in people's backs.<br /><br />While others walked on their bodies and used their feet - dipped in sizzling hot oil and flames from a charcoal fire - to give massages. <br /><br />One visitor, George from London, said: ''It's the first time I've had a massage quite like this, being hammered with wooden nails and sizzling sesame oil rubbed into my back.<br /><br />''It was a new experience and was more relaxing than I anticipated and his feet and toes were able to get really deep in the muscles and work out the tension from those knots.''
