The construction of a peace symbol building called "The Peace Dove" in Padang was halted when massive waves swept away the foundation stones on Tuesday (November 5). <br /><br />The video shows destruction caused to the memorial platform and tape cordoning off the area.<br /><br />One resident of the city of Padang told Newsflare: "Waves with a height of about 4 meters last week not only destroyed the construction of the back of the peace monument but made the coastline in Padang city shift."<br /><br />Padang city government are set to immediately rebuild the monument area, which is a symbol of peace between maritime countries in Indonesia, because of the economic benefits of this tourist attraction.
