Locals save hundreds of fish spilled onto road after lorry overturns in Thailand

This is the frantic moment locals battled to scoop up two tonnes of fish to save them from dying on the road after a delivery truck overturned.<br /><br />The lorry was driving to shops after a rain storm when it slipped on the wet road and overturned in Krabi, southern Thailand last Sunday (November 3).<br /><br />The vehicle was carrying 4,400 lbs (2.2 tonnes) of cat fish which were spilled onto the road along with ice and water.<br /><br />Locals gathered as many as they could and put them in a bucket while waiting for the emergency services to arrive.<br /><br />Onlooker Khun Surapong was impressed by the kindness of residents who came to help because no one stole the fish.<br /><br />He said: "I heard the loud noise from the crash and when I came, I saw hundreds of fish on the road. People were trying to pick them up.<br /><br />"I thought they were going to grab some fish for themselves but they picked up the fish and put it in the basket to save them from dying.<br /><br />"There were some fish that died but everybody tried their hardest to save as many as they could.<br /><br />Firefighters cleaned the road to prevent further accidents.
