UPS and CVS Deliver Prescription <br />Meds by Drone for the First Time According to UPS Flight Forward, <br />this was the first-ever prescription <br />delivery by drone in the U.S. The delivery occurred on <br />Nov. 1 from a CVS pharmacy<br />to a residence and finally to a <br />retirement community in North Carolina. While the drone's flight <br />was autonomous, it was <br />overseen by a remote operator. The drone hovered 20 feet over <br />the delivery address and then <br />lowered the package by a cable cord. Drone deliveries have not yet <br />become pervasive due to FAA regulations. In addition to UPS Flight Forward, <br />Google launched a drone delivery <br />service called Wing in October.
